The wait is over!!! We are the BPL Champion for the 10th time thanks to goals by Ronaldo (penalty) and Giggs. The team played and showed everyone just why they deserved to be the champs, rock solid defense, brilliant goalkeeping and dangerous attacks. Ronaldo converted calmly from the spot after MU was awarded a penalty for a foul on Rooney. MU could have gotten a second penalty but the ref could only waved play on. Substitute Giggs capped another brilliant performance showing why he's on the same ranks as Sir Bobby Charlton with an easy and calmly slotted goal. I quote "He is the last remaining player from a golden era", but if you ask me, the golden era has just begun!!!!
In the end, destiny is indeed in our hands, as Chelsea could only wept away their efforts as news of MU's victory spread around and all they got for it was a 1-1 draw. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. And that's what MU did and now they are the 2008 Barclay's English Premier League Champion for the 10th time.......
We are the champion again, and again, and again, and again.....

The Unsung Heroes...
these players are the one who really...really deserve the credit...
they define what is a champion year after year, season after season...

these are the building blocks that supports the spine and the backbone of the team..Rio, Scholes, Rooney, Tevez, Evra, Ronaldo, Carrick, VDS, Vidic..

Here's I quote an article I read in the Official MU website.....
Ten keys to title success
After a dramatic final day of the 2007/08 season, ManUtd.com puts forward ten reasons why United are ten-time Premier League champions…
Home Rule: Sir Alex Ferguson's wish in recent seasons was to re-establish Old Trafford as a fortress. Safe to say, it's mission accomplished. Aside from the opening day bore draw against Reading and February's defeat to Manchester City, United have beaten all comers to M16, winning 17 out of 19 home matches.
Leaving It Late: Opposing teams expect to be on the rack in the closing stages, and stats show United are deadliest in the final 15 minutes of games. Most tellingly in this season were dramatic strikes from Carlos Tevez - a tap-in at Tottenham and a priceless header at Blackburn.
That Boy Ronaldo: While Ronny is ever-eager to point out that it’s not a one-man show, United fans have been privileged to watch a genius at work. Almost always at his unplayable best, Ronaldo has plundered goal after goal, overtaking records in the same way he plays - left, right and centre.
Defence: For all the plaudits lavished upon the Reds’ star-studded attack, the platform for success has been built on a miserly defensive record. Despite being without skipper Gary Neville all season, United’s backline registered 20 domestic clean sheets - the finest defensive record in the Premier League.
Big Game Hunters: Until April's defeat at Chelsea, United's record against the other members of the 'Big Four' - Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool - was virtually unblemished. Ever able to raise themselves for the big games, United beat Liverpool twice, took four points off Arsenal and beat Chelsea at Old Trafford, taking 13 points from a possible 18.
New Boys: The near-instant assimilation of summer arrivals Anderson, Nani, Owen Hargreaves and Carlos Tevez has been key to United’s title triumph. The young Portuguese-based duo proved themselves as players for now, not just the future, while the more experienced Hargreaves and Tevez were integral to United’s late-season surge.
Squad Depth: Last season’s bid for a second Treble was left in tatters by injuries. Eager to avoid a repeat, Sir Alex made new signings and brought back a host of youngsters to bolster his squad. The move worked wonders, with every squad member contributing when injuries have hit – remember Ben Foster’s heroics at Pride Park?
Experience: For all United's free-spirited youthfulness, the calmness of some sage old heads has been crucial. Off the field, Sir Alex and his coaching staff have been there, done it enough times to keep everybody grounded, while experienced players like Ferdinand, van der Sar, Scholes and Giggs brought vital know-how at fraught times.
Bouncing Back: The mark of champions is to respond positively to setbacks - exactly what United did all season. Every time questions were posed by a domestic defeat – Manchester City (twice), Bolton, West Ham, Chelsea – the Reds responded with a victory.
Attack, Attack, Attack: Much was made of the contrast in the title chasers’ styles. Pragmatic, robotic Chelsea doing battle with swashbuckling, easy-on-the-eye United for the grand prize. In the end, goal difference was the difference between the two, proving that merging substance and style is a winning combination.

So sad for chelshit... they cannot escape from pressure.
Sorry so sorry for chelshit... the Winner will still the Winner and prepare for the second sad story!
As SAF said... ManUtd have momentum ahead of Moscow!
Prepare yourself guys for the second party!
i sat last nite watching United notch up another title, maybe not in style but another all the same.
all i want to say to u Red Devils....."'Remember this as you'll more than likely never witness another manager win ten league titles in your life time"...!
To look at SAF's achievements is to literally stand open mouthed, he's created three great teams now and just keeps going. Those of us who've been lucky enough to remember and see the greats of the past really understand how in todays fickle footballing environment how hard a task it is to achieve so much. Some will argue otherwise but I for one think what Sir Alex has done is second to none now in the domestic game 10 titles in 16 years does not need any explanation. From the first time Fergie unleashed his fledglings at QPR in the cup replay back in 1990 we've not looked back, that night and those who were there like me will remember this as the big turning point especially for us as fans. We came away that night knowing here was a manager who would move mountains for this club and boy has he done it. Brave enough to drop Whiteside and McGrath, sell Ince and Beckham, play kids with no experience and go onto win the double..!!
Sir Alex you've done more than any of us ever expected and after all those years of pain our appreciation is unexplainable (is tha a real word..?) but all we can do is say thank you you've made us all happy and the football we've witnessed is what we longed for for all those barren years.....!
I take off my hat to you tonight Sir, for you truly deserve the title SIR ALEX FERGUSON......!!!!!!!
"Probably the best manager ever..!"
my thots exactly....quoted from an un-named Red Devil....
hail SAF.....a true CHAMPION!!!

Besides SAF achievement as probably the only manager to manage 10 league title, credits have to be given to GIGGS too. He has won almost all the titles won by SAF until now and he still scores last week. He is indeed an outstanding character in Man U and probably in English football too. He is already beyond most of the legends in Man U and surely enough he is my Man U legend - numero uno!
GIGGS THE HERO!
As for Ronaldo, he is finally showed his true ambition, to play in Spain. It is disappointing to hear such a comment before on of the biggest match for the club. Although I do like to see him stay, I believe he will be gone with 100million pound offered by Real Madrid soon.... what say u?
i say let him go...if the offer is right and his heart is no longer with United
wud be sad to see such a talent leave but on the positive side, with such an offer, we cud buy 3-4 new talents
as for me, no player is bigger than the club!
as good as he is, sometimes he does act like a prima donna on the field...too bad with his talent and ability, he shud cut out the act as if the opponent has no right to tackle or harass him...its football..its a rough game...move on play on...no need to show tantrum or looking at the ref everytime he got tackled...its embarrassing at times

If with that amount of money, man Utd can buy better players. The team is not made of Ronaldo itself.Anyway,if he is really a great player,he will succeed in Spain or else it will be just another flop like the rest

But I believe Ronaldo WONT leave this summer.. I put it he has at least another year with United. If he were to leave next season would be much more reasonable... But hey, this is football. anything can happen.
But for 100 million pounds certainly can buy alot... But if I were given that amount of money... I would certainly put it all on Lionel Messi. A star for another star.
But anyway, since the season has already been dusted, lets talk transfer window... Who would YOU want to see in a United shirt next season?? Lets be realistic about it and not just name names....
For me, I would LOVE to see the return of a certain Guiseppi Rossi to the colors of United. Phillip Lahm could also be a good addition to our back four... Lets be honest, Gary Neville dosent have much in the tank anymore.
Lionel Messi would be a nice addition. Let Ronaldo go, cash in on his departure and get Messi.
Agreed with Natchoo on Rossi. Trade Saha to the Yellow Submarine if needed to get him back :P

Transfer Rumours: May 08
As the season comes to a close, the tabloids are already speculating as to the extent of United's potential summer transfer activity.
The Reds have long been linked with reinforcements upfront, but for the first time West Ham striker Dean Ashton's name has been thrown into the mix.
The Daily Star claim that Sir Alex Ferguson wants a burly striker to boost his forward line's physical presence, and the form of Hammers striker Ashton has apparently caught his eye.

Saha should leave utd if he wants to continue playing. I would like to see the likes of Lio Messi and Berbatov in the side. These should be interesting addition. However, in the defensive side, I do believe Utd has to get at least one new right back... i agree, Neville has come to his end already.

MU is the 2008 Champions League champ!!!! WOOT! We got the double!!!! 1-1 FT, with Ronaldo's awesome header in the 26th minute and Lampard's tuck in from a lucky chance, deflected off two defenders in the 45th minute. 6-5 Penalty shootout, Ronaldo missed, Terry slipped and missed and VDS saved the shot from Anelka. Cry and weep Blues, cos the Red Square is definitely RED tonight. It was a tight game, and could have gone either way. 1st half went to MU, but 2nd was Chelsea's. Man of the Match, honestly too many to name but WORST player, or should I quote the commentators, "He's just an idiot!" is none other than Drogba who slapped Vidic while the referee was watching after some fracas about a throw in. As a gift, he got a red card for it.

THE KING OF EUROPE!
Still can't get over the win :D ManU dominating the first half with Chelsea needing a very lucky intervention from Ferdinand to get their equaliser. ManU should have close the game with Tevez missing two good chances and Carrick's goal bound shot saved by Cech. But 2nd half, Chelski woke up and did give ManU's defence a torrid time. Woodwork save the day.
Dogba is an asshole. What a slap! I should learn that pimp slap :P As what Hantu Keras said, Ronaldo's penalty miss buat jantung macam terhenti. Thanks to Terry for keeping us in and VDS saved!!!
Nice to see Scholes and Brown's passing before the goal by Ronaldo. Carrick is the man, attacking and defending when necessary. Hargreaves is doing fine at the right wing. Vidic hold supreme in the centre. Also nice to see my idol, Giggs get to make an appearance and almost scored! It would have made it more marvelous for him.

Fergie: Real Madrid lack morals
Sir Alex Ferguson has accused Real Madrid of lacking morals over their dogged pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Barely had the champagne been uncorked after Manchester United's momentous Champions League final triumph over Chelsea than Ronaldo's Old Trafford future was thrown into question.
The 23-year-old candidate for world footballer of the year has hardly helped with a series of ambigious statements, which seemed to be aimed at increasing his salary despite only agreeing a new five-year contract last summer.
Real have wasted little time in making their interest known in a player coach Bernd Schuster would love to have at the Bernabeu.
Both Schuster and club president Ramon Calderon have expressed their admiration for the Portugal winger, which has only served to increase Ferguson's annoyance.
'They think they can ride roughshod over everyone but they won't do it with us,' declared the Scot.
'Real Madrid have no moral issues at all.
'In terms of great clubs, Barcelona have far better morality than Real Madrid will ever have.
'Do you not think we have had many expressions of interest about our players from big clubs in Europe?
'Real Madrid are not the only club interested in Ronaldo. But the others are not saying so. They don't get into this nonsense.'
Ferguson has found particularly ironic a statement from Calderon effectively alleging Ronaldo is remaining at United against his will.
Given General Franco's 40-year dictatorship was often to the benefit of Real in their battles with Catalan giants Barcelona, it is a comment the Manchester United manager is happy to submerge in sarcasm.
'I read on Teletext last night; Calderon is talking, Schuster is talking,' he said.
'Calderon makes that great statement `Slavery was abolished many years ago'. Did they tell Franco that? Give me a break.
'The simple fact is Cristiano has another four years left on his contract.'
However, it does not appear the Spanish giants will abandon their attempt to lure Ronaldo to La Liga.
After all, David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ronaldo's good friend Gabriel Heinze have all joined Real from United in recent years.
In Heinze's case it was a deal that suited United totally given the player's oft-stated desire to join Liverpool.
Beckham and Van Nistelrooy were apparently in their prime when they left Old Trafford though, a fact not lost on observers who feel Madeira-born Ronaldo will eventually find the lure of Spain too great to resist.
Yet Ferguson is happy to point out both Beckham and Van Nistelrooy had reached the end of their usefulness for the Red Devils, who do not let players go who they want to keep.
'It doesn't matter which player it is, the ones you want to keep you have to work hard for,' he said.
'In the modern day that is a fact. It is not lost on Manchester United but it is not lost on Real Madrid either.
'Yes, we sold them Van Nistelrooy and Beckham but we did that because we wanted to.'
With Ronaldo now due to join up with Portugal ahead of their Euro 2008 campaign and therefore not expected back at United's Carrington training complex until the end of July, his future will be the subject of endless discussion over the coming weeks.
However, neither Ferguson nor chief executive David Gill has been anything other than steadfast in their conviction Ronaldo will start the 2008-09 campaign at Old Trafford.
The same cannot be said of Gerard Pique though, with Ferguson confirming he has decided to let the young defender leave for Barcelona.
Louis Saha may also be allowed to move on, although United are looking to strengthen rather than weaken a squad which has just landed the biggest prizes of all.
'I met with (assistant) Carlos Queiroz this morning and analysed what we need next year,' revealed Ferguson.
'Right away with have three extra games, one in the Super Cup and two in World Club Championship in Japan.
'That trip takes it out of you and it is more or less a week away.
'We have seen what happened to Rangers this year after playing 67 games so we need to decide what our squad is going to be.'

Record Ryan craves more
Ryan Giggs is eager for more glory after making his club-record 759th appearance in the wee small hours of a massive morning in Moscow.
The United winger helped the Reds to win a third European Cup by scoring the final penalty before Edwin van der Sar denied Chelsea's Nicolas Anelka. After lifting the trophy with Rio Ferdinand, he took the time to reflect on an historic night for himself and for the club.
"I've not really talked about the record because it's about winning championships and European Cups but I couldn't have done it on a better night," said Ryan.
"It's a proud achievement for myself and my family for me to have played that many games for this club. It's brilliant but it is about winning trophies and I've been fortunate to win a lot. I hope there's more to come."
Giggs had a golden opportunity to spare us all the agony of penalties but his close-range shot was brilliantly headed away by John Terry - ironically the man who would go on to miss what would have been Chelsea's match-winning spot-kick.
"I just got a toe to it, I could have got a better connection and John Terry did brilliantly to get back," recalled Ryan.
"There were some good chances in the game but neither team could put them away. No one likes it to go to penalties because it's a lottery then. Fortunately we were the winners.
"I'm not really a penalty taker but I practiced a lot in the week, aiming for that corner. I practiced with 10 penalties in that
corner, missing one. So I was quite confident."
Giggs was in the United side that won the European Cup on 26 May 1999 - that would have been Sir Matt Busby's 90th birthday. This time, he's helped the Reds to win the famous trophy 50 years after eight of Busby's players and three club officials died in the plane crash at Munich. Fate?
"I think it is fate. We couldn't have planned it any better," said Ryan.
"Everyone was disappointed with the Manchester City result (close to the crash anniversary) in February. Hopefully this makes up for it. We were nervous that day (against City) but tonight we wanted to make up for that and to win the Champions League for this great club. We've won it three times now and we want to win it more because that's what great clubs do."
Winning trophies is what great players do and Ryan wants to continue adding to his personal haul of 19 major honours, which also happens to be a record - in English football.
"A few people have mentioned me hanging up my boots but I'm still enjoying it. I want nights like this again. I'll go away and enjoy the summer and look forward to next season."

Sir Alex: Ronaldo is staying
Sir Alex Ferguson firmly believes Cristiano Ronaldo’s immediate future at United is secure, but he says future Reds success in Europe is vital to keeping the prodigious Portuguese winger at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo has four years left on his current contract, but Sir Alex admits a time will come when the player has a “big decision” to make over his future.
United clinched a dramatic third European Cup in Moscow on Wednesday and Sir Alex says improving that record even further will be a crucial point in persuading Ronaldo to extend his stay in Manchester even further.
Real Madrid continue to make the world aware of their interest in Ronaldo’s services with Real coach Bernd Schuster and president Ramon Calderon both expressing a desire to see the winger at The Bernabeu. But Sir Alex remains unflustered, as he should having just won a league and European Cup double.
“You get used to it with Madrid,” said the United boss on Friday. “Schuster's talking and Calderon's talking. Real think they can ride roughshod over everyone, but they won't do it with us. They have no moral issues.
"In terms of great clubs, Barcelona have far better morality than Real Madrid will ever have. Real use this Marca newspaper as a vehicle to unsettle players.

Dutch ace Klaas-Jan Huntelaar announces his love for Manchester United, whilst there is likely to be a transfer merry-go-round at Anfield next month...

UNITED IN THE HUNT FOR DUTCH KLAAS ACT
Who? - Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Where is he? - Ajax
Who is he linked with? Manchester United
The man who has replaced Ruud van Nistelrooy in the Dutch national team has his heart set on replacing the former United striker at club level too. Ajax striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar openly acknowledged his 'love' for the team from Old Trafford and admitted that Sir Alex Ferguson was 'very interested' in issuing the 23-year-old with Ruud's vacant number 10 shirt. Quoted in the News Of The World, Huntelaar said: "I love clubs with great history like Ajax. I also love United. It's a club that makes me dream, especially as Ruud van Nistelrooy played there and did great things with them. I know certain English clubs are following me, like Manchester United, who are very interested in me." Huntelaar's desire to be added to Fergie's Christmas shopping list comes during a spell of patchy form for Ajax, where club manager Henk ten Cate has publicly stood by his man. Despite the high esteem in which he's regarded in Amsterdam, Huntelaar feels his future lies away from Holland and wishes to follow in the footsteps of van Nistelrooy, and another Dutch striker, by moving to a higher-profile club on the continent. "Dirk Kuyt is another inspiration as to how I continue my career. I follow the careers of van Nistelrooy and Kuyt, who play for massive European clubs, and they're role models for a young player like me.

Today's news on MU website mentioned that O'Shea is not leaving anywhere. He's here to stay. Yup, Pique is a loss, he's good, and in my opinion, much better than O'Shea but then O'Shea's versatile. Lets hope next season he proves his worth.
Another news, MU has issued a warning to Real Madrid for their repeated public interests on Ronaldo, citing it as a cause to unsettle the wing wizard in MU and disturbing his focus playing in EURO 2008 for Portugal. Honestly, Real Madrid has gone too far!

Transfer Rumours: June 08
United's Premier League and Champions League Double seemingly won't stop Sir Alex Ferguson further strengthening his squad this summer - with a striker top of the list.
The UK press are tipping the Reds for a big-money move for Lyon's Karim Benzema, with prices ranging from £25m-£30m.
Ajax's Klaas Jan Huntelaar continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, while the Reds are reportedly closlely monitoring the contract situation of neighbours City's up-and-coming 18-year-old striker Daniel Sturridge.
Aaron Ramsey, Cardiff City's 17-year-old starlet, is tipped by a host of newspapers to make a £7million move to one of the Premier League's top four.

Wayne Rooney is desperate for United to secure the services of strike-partner Carlos Tevez.
The diminutive Agentina international has been a hit since signing on a loan deal at Old Trafford in the summer, and has said that he would sign a permanent deal immediately if it was put in front of him.
"It is crucial to get him signed and I am sure that will happen," said Rooney. "Carlos loves playing here, he's enjoying it so I don't see why it will be a problem."
The 23-year-old striker has been a fantastic addition to the United squad, playing a leading role in the Reds' Premier League and Champions League triumphs.
For Rooney, he was a joy to play with, despite initial claims that the two would not complement each other. "We saw him at West Ham what a great player he was and how hard he works for the team," he added.
"I had no doubts that we could play together and from training with him when he first came you could immediately see the qualities he had. I couldn't wait to play with him.
"Towards the end of the season we didn't play together a lot, but when we did, we did really well. He's been brilliant. He's a battler, he works so hard and has scored 19 goals, which is brilliant."

Rio Ferdinand describes the feeling of winning the Champions League as the best he's ever experienced, but, according to the defender, it's the kudos that comes with it that represents the most satisfying part of the achievement.
Ferdinand skippered the Reds to a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea in Moscow last week to seal Premier League and European glory.
The 29-year-old has been part of a number of trophy triumphs since joining the club in 2002, but insists only now can members of the current squad be talked about in the same breath as past club greats.
"I said before the game that you’re only really considered a great player at this club when you win the Champions League," he told ManUtd.com.
"There have been a lot of top players at United, but to win this competition and be revered by the fans and everyone associated with the club by becoming a European champion sets you apart from everyone else.
"It's the best feeling I’ve ever had. Not many players get to experience it. We want to be back next year and experience this feeling again because it’s fantastic."
Ferdinand also revealed he was next in line to take a penalty had Nicolas Anelka's not been saved by Edwin van der Sar.
"I was next up after Ryan [Giggs] so I was thinking about what I was going to do if Anelka had scored and I had to take mine," when asked how he felt as the Chelsea striker stepped forward.
"All the lads did brilliantly [in the shoot-out]. Look at Nani and Anderson – two young, inexperienced lads in terms of playing in games on this type of stage, yet they stepped up and showed great nerve and courage.
"That speaks volumes for the courage and ability in this squad."

Three clubs have now been given permission to talk to Cardiff City's highly-rated starlet Aaron Ramsey, but the player has been urged to sign for United by Wales Under-21 manager Brian Flynn.
The 17-year-old was on Tuesday given permission to talk to United (http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid={B4CEE8FA-9A47-47BC-B069-3F7A2F35DB70}&newsid=6610831)by Cardiff, who also confirmed that another unnamed Premier League club - reported to be Arsenal - had made a successful bid. Then on Wednesday Everton confirmed their £5million offer had been accepted.
Reds chief executive David Gill has since revealed that if Ramsey does opt for a move to United, he would most likely be loaned back to Cardiff next season.
Wales U21 boss Flynn believes the move to Old Trafford would be ideal for the player, who has shown great potential in just 22 appearances for Cardiff.
"I’m not in the least bit surprised United are in for Aaron," says Flynn. "And with the reputation Sir Alex has for nurturing young players, he could not go to a better club.
"Sir Alex is a master in the art of developing young footballers and I have long felt that it was a matter of when, not if, Aaron would make the step up to a Premier League club."
Ramsey has made rapid progress since making his Bluebirds debut in April 2007, and his performances in Cardiff's run to the FA Cup final alerted the wider world to his burgeoning talent.
"I think this could be a good move for him," added Flynn. "He has everything – temperament, attitude, ability and work ethic – to be a top Premier League and international player for the next 15 years. No wonder Sir Alex Ferguson likes the look of him, he's a special talent

Manchester United will play Portsmouth in a pre-season exhibition match in Nigeria in July.
At a press conference at Old Trafford today, chief executive David Gill confirmed the game against the FA Cup winners will be added to United’s existing commitments in Africa. The date and venue will be confirmed at a later date, although the match will be played in the Nigerian capital, Abuja.
The Reds are heading to South Africa for three games against Kaiser Chiefs and Orlando Pirates between 19 July and 26 July and will now play in Nigeria shortly afterwards, en route back to England.
"Our own research has shown Nigeria is home to our fourth largest fan base – some 13.6million supporters – so this is an opportunity for us to say thank you to those fans," said David Gill.
"We're looking forward to a real carnival atmosphere when we play in Nigeria.
"In January we had a game in Saudi Arabia, which went very well. Now this will be our first visit to Nigeria and a chance for the fans to see their heroes in the flesh."
Of course, the Reds are also due to face Portsmouth at Wembley in the Community Shield on Sunday 10 August.
"We didn't plan it to be a dress rehearsal for the Community Shield," Gill said. "That's purely coincidental.
"We'll take a strong squad. All the English players will be there - people like Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves, for instance.
"Those players who are involved in and do well at the European Championships won't make the trip [to South Africa or Nigeria]."
The visit, although fleeting, will last longer than just the 90 minutes of football.
"I think we'll be there for a couple of days," Gill said. "We want to be there long enough to play the game, participate in some activities and see a bit of the country."

Exactly, no player is bigger than the club. But the least you can do for the club, is by staying a few more years and win more trophies. Repay back the support and help from the manager, teammates, the club and the fans. He's where he is right now because of MU. Before this, the only thing he is famous for is him sharing the same name as the other Ronaldo. :furious:

Why would Ronny want to leave?
Speculation continues to cloud Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford, but former Reds no.7 Bryan Robson is crystal clear in his message to the Portuguese star: Stay at United.
Robson can't understand the logic in a move away from the current Premier League and Champions League winners and says success in the immediate future is far more likely at Old Trafford than it is at the Bernabeu.
"I can't see much of a temptation to go to Real," the United legend said. "He is playing fantastic football and is admired by all the fans, players and coaching staff.
"He's on a massive contract so I don't see any reason to move to Real. How did they do in the Champions League last year?
"He's got everything he wants at United. They are a young team and could go on to be successful for years. I don't see why he should leave," he told the Manchester Evening News.
Robson, who recently took on an ambassadorial role at the club, knows the temptations that exist being a sought-after player.
"I went through the same thing," Robbo revealed. "Juventus and Sampdoria offered me a lot more money, but I was happy at United. This club is massive.
"Once they told me they wanted me to stay, that was all I needed to hear. If he weighs everything up, then why move if he is happy where he is? Money isn't everything."
Jual aje la. Walaupun Ronaldo score banyak last season tapi dia telah miss 2 kali penalti dlm saat genting. 1st time, mungkin unlucky. 2nd time, mungkin coincidence. Kalau 3rd time kena lagi, sah mental tak cukup kuat. Nanti saham jatuh. Jual terus lagi baik.
Rooney akan benefit banyak jika Ronaldo tiada. Musim ni, Rooney dah berusaha bersungguh-sungguh dan cuba dari macam-macam posisi tapi masih tak boleh mengatasi Ronaldo.
No player is bigger than the club.

Neville: Ronaldo should stay
Gary Neville insists Cristiano Ronaldo is at the right club and has questioned the validity of quotes attributed to the Portuguese star saying that he is interested in a move to Real Madrid.
Neville was speaking as a pundit for ITV Sport as Ronaldo helped Portugal kick off their Euro 2008 campaign with a 2-0 win over Turkey. Goals from defender Pepe and midfielder Raul Meireles gave Luiz Felipe Scolari's men victory.
United captain Neville follows Reds legend Bryan Robson in questioning why Ronaldo would want to leave Old Trafford after such widespread personal and collective success at United in 2007/08.
"He knows he's at the right club," said Neville. "The adulation he receives, everything he would want is there. The manager's made his position clear, so I don't see a problem with that."
Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson and chief executive David Gill have made the club's stance clear by stating that Ronaldo is not for sale. But speculation surrounding his future was last week fuelled by claims from Brazilian website Terra that the Portuguese star wants a move to Madrid.
"These things always happen when players are away on international duty and are from obscure sources," he added. "He's focused completely on doing well for Portugal. Anything he does say will be taken out of context, so he can't win."

Kuszczak out of Euro 2008
United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has pulled out of Poland's Euro 2008 squad with a back injury.
The goalkeeper, who is generally second choice with his national side behind Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc, but he has been ruled out for around three weeks after suffering the injury in training.
United have been assured that the 26-year-old will be fit for the Reds' preparations for the start of the 2008/09 campaign.
The news came as yet another blow for the Poles, who have also lost midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski, in the lead up to their opening Group B clash with Germany on Sunday.
Coach Leo Beenhakker has requested permission to call up Wojciech Kowalewski as Kuszczak's replacement to join Boruc and Arsenal's Lukasz Fabianski as Poland's three goalkeepers.

I would slightly beg to differ... I believe he has a better chance of shining at the Emirates rather than at Old Trafford.. For all his short-sightedness on the pitch, Wenger sure does have a good eye for nurturing youngsters..
Oh well, all the best to Ramsey.
As for Ronaldo, if he REALLY wants to go, we should just sell him off and use that money to buy new players. As the legend Cantona has said, " United will win trophies with Ronaldo... United will STILL win trophies WITHOUT Ronaldo"
Dont sell Ronaldo for anything less than 80 Million pounds. Use that money to buy new talents... Just get off and done with... The longer this agenda drags on, the more everyone at United will be uneasy...
Ferguson should send his scouts...or himself...to Austria/Swizerland to find new talent at the Euro championships.

Fair enough. But then again, as good as Wenger is at nurturing youngsters, can he even compare with Ferguson's skill at discovering and nurturing them? Take Giggs and Scholes for example. I can even add Beckham into the mix. Walcott is one of Wenger's few young talents but not fully utilised, he's not achieving to the best of his abilities which is a disappointment cos that kid can do better.
Again, I reiterate my point, he may be good at Emirates but he'll be better at Old Trafford.
ramsey might not get as much chance to play at OT compare to emirate. There are few senior players ahead of him like Park Ji Sung, Nani, Ronaldo.
I believe what the kid want right now is to play in premiership. Few years later, when arsenal still do not win anything, he might regret his decision.

True, very much a valid point. The competition in Old Trafford is high and stiff, so a young guy like Ramsey probably won't have much chance to play YET with the line-up of players in front of him.
But again, as I have mentioned in my point, he is only 17, and Ferguson wants him as a young player and loan him back to Cardiff. Why? Because he wants Ramsey to gain more experience and develop further before bringing him over to Old Trafford. He's definitely not going to put him immediately into the first team!
As for your second point, I agree too. But believe me, Arsenal won't win a single thing for years to come. :icon_biggrin: Few years later, he WILL regret his decision and realise his mistake.

but just look what happen to obi mikel now. He just a fringe player at chelsea. Anderson at MU got more games than him I believe.
Btw according to thesun.co.uk, MU will make a $25M bid to long pursuit berbatov. Do you guys think he will be a good signing?
Berbatov....don't quite like him, look like a whiner more than a winner. But still, it would be a better back up for Rooney and Tevez rather than Saha who injured too much. Granted, Saha can provide a speedy pace when he is fully fit, but if you are injured most of the times, it is not helping ManU in long run.

United set to bid for Sneijder
English champions Manchester United may be planning a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
The ongoing saga regarding Real Madrid's interest in Cristiano Ronaldo has infuriated United to the extent where the club reported the Spanish champions to FIFA.
Reports now suggest that should Ronaldo indeed settle on a Spanish move, United will make a bid for Real Madrids' Wesley Sneijder.
Another option for the Red Devils may be demanding the inclusion of Sneijder as part of any Madrid deal for Ronaldo.
United have made their intentions to keep Ronaldo clear, but with Madrid said to be preparing a world record breaking bid of approximately 107 million US dollars, the offer may prove to big to refuse.
Ronaldo himself has put-off making any decisions on his future until after his Euro 2008 campaign with Portugal.
Sneijder cost Madrid 42 million dollars during last summer's transfer window, a total which made him the second most expensive Dutch player ever. He has also been on stunning form for the Dutch at Euro 2008, which may make any potential deal involving him more appealing to United.
So far, there has been no indication that the Dutchman is interested in leaving for Old Trafford and it may be unlikely considering Real's success in retaining their La Liga title.
If Ronaldo does arrive at the Bernabeu however, it is likely Sneijder will be competing with the Portuguese star for position and may be interested in a move to United for a regular starting place.

Petrucci decides on United
Roma teenager Davide Petrucci claims the offer of a job as a gardener for his father helped persuade him to leave Italy for Manchester United.
The 16-year-old is reportedly set to move to Old Trafford but the Italian club will receive only £200,000 in compensation for a player who scored 14 goals in 19 youth team matches last season.
"Going to play for the strongest club in the world is a great opportunity for me," said Petrucci. "United have offered my father Stefano a job as a gardener and he will accompany me. I will go over on June 30 and start in United's academy the next day."
He added: "It was hard to say no, even though I am a Roma fan and would have gladly stayed with them throughout my career.
"A month ago Roma offered me a contract on the minimum wage and they did not say how long it was for.
"I asked for a bit of time to consider it, as United's offer had already been made, but they gave me just three days.
"Roma closed the door on me while United opened another. They could have valued me more highly."

United want hitman Berbatov
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is to start his summer spending by bringing Dimitar Berbatov to Old Trafford.
With Berbatov's stellar 2007/08 campaign for Tottenham Hotspur still fresh in the memory, the United hierarchy are keener than ever to acquire the Bulgarian striker's services in a deal that is reported to be in the region of US$50million.
The one-time CSKA Sofia favourite, who joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen for half his current asking price in 2006, is seen as an ideal leader of the line for a United side still celebrating last season's Barclays Premier League and Champions League double.
Tottenham recently offered Berbatov a new US$140,000-a-week mega deal in a bid to force the issue with the White Hart Lane hitman after rumours linking him with a move away from north London failed to disappear.
However, Berbatov's agent, Emil Dantchev, has already revealed that his client wishes to play in the next edition of the Champions League, news that has made United - who also look set to sign Argentina international Carlos Tevez on a permanent deal - favourites to land the 27-year-old forward.
Berbatov notched 23 goals in 52 appearances for Spurs last season, an impressive tally that included a penalty during the club's Carling Cup success against Chelsea.
dah macam drama la pulak si Ron ni...
nak belah tu berambus jer la...it will be a great loss, but we are Manchester United!
no player is bigger than the club especially Manchester United!
i propose we say FUCK U Real!
sell Ron to them for 70m pound

then we raid barca for messi

and
lastly

Davide Petrucci

Manchester United last night came under fire after signing one of Italy's most promising young strikers.
Just days after they were pipped by Arsenal to the signature of 17-year-old Cardiff midfielder Aaron Ramsey, United snapped up Davide Petrucci, 16, who scored 14 goals in 19 matches last season and was the top scorer in Roma's youth team. He has also starred for Italy's under-17 team.
United will pay Petrucci £95,000 a year and will cover the cost of regular flights home to Italy. The deal is the maximum permissible offer for a youth-team player. Roma will receive around £200,000 in compensation but the move has caused fury.
"It is a nightmare," said Il Romanista, a newspaper dedicated to Roma. "Manchester United have dealt us another low blow, stealing Petrucci from under our noses, probably the best product of our youth system. In three to four years, he will be worth 100 times as much."
Petrucci, who comes from the San Basilio suburb of Rome, has been compared to a young Francesco Totti and could have made the first-team squad next year. However, Roma offered him a contract worth only £16,000 a year, the basic youth-team deal. Petrucci was also said to be concerned that he had not already been called up to the first team. Totti made his debut in 1993 when he was 16.
Bruno Conti, Roma's technical director, said the club were unwilling to improve the terms because it would upset other youth-team players who had already signed similar deals, including Riccardo Brosco, a defender who has already been promoted to the full squad.
Conti said Petrucci would have been given opportunities to show his value next season.
Roma have a history of developing youth players. Daniele De Rossi and Alberto Aquilani have come through the system in the past two years and are now playing for Italy.
Roma are unable to contest the signing, since Italian rules state it is impossible to offer a professional contract to anyone under 17. Petrucci's birthday is in October.
Meanwhile, Patrice Evra has signed on for four more years at United. His contract extension is worth £75,000 a week. "United is more than a club, it is a family," said Evra. "I'm proud to be a part of it."

Madrid To Sell Six To Finance Ronaldo
Real Madrid are preparing to sell up to six players in order to finance their continuing quest to prise Cristiano Ronaldo away from Manchester United this summer.
Real are offering a whoopin $90m deal.......So buy as many ronaldo as you can fergie....
Damn, in my opinion just sell off ROnaldo. THe melodrama queen has no place in a squad that stressed on teamwork.
Train Nani up to be Ronaldo's equal. In a year or two, he might be just that.

I'm sure he will negotiate to get some revenue of the t-shirts selling in Real Madrid. When Beckham jump to Real, the shirts bring a lot of revenues to Real. So, this is one of the aspect where RM is banking on. Also, the profile of Ronaldo is money churning as of now. Good look, good body, young, and skillful with the ball. A total package you can say except for that big ego of his.

Just sell him off if his heart is no longer in Man Utd.Can cash some good money to purchase more players. No player is bigger than Man Utd.If you ask me,I prefer Rooney than him becoz,Rooney is more a team player than him and perform better individually.
Look at Ronaldo with Portugal, nothing to be proud off.I don't think he can perform better than in Man Utd.

Yg pertama, ManU kena make sure Tevez's deal became permanent this round. Estimated need to spend $20mil pound.
Then, find a good striker to replace Saha. I would recommend bringing back Rossi from Villareal. This boy got potential and really hope that he still have the love for ManU. Chris Eagles seems ot be not in favour as of now.
Train up Nani, while scouting for young wingers. Currently, only Park, Giggs, Fletcher and Hargreaves can really play in the wings. Hargreaves is not natural winger, Giggs too old, so we only have Nani, Fletcher and Park to depend on. Too thin IMO. bringing in a youngster to develop would be good. Bentley, perhaps? :)
Central midfield we have Hargreaves, Scholes, Carrick, Anderson. Seems to be well-covered but another young star would be a good cover as Scholes is reaching his twilight.
Goalkeepers are well covered. Foster has a good prospect to become England's youngest keeper, if he got the chance to feature in ManU next season.
We have Brown, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Silvestre and Neville (is he coming back?) for defence, not to mention Danny Simpson who is waiting for his chance. (Shame on Pique though as he will leave for Barcelona). Defence seems to be well-covered although the central defence seems shaky at times whenever either Ferdinand or Vidic not playing.
I was hoping that Fergie could make a repeat by developing a Fergie's Fledging 2, but it is just my wish :P

If you want a striker with height and speed... I am still sticking to Russia's Pavlechenko.. Quite fast and dangerous in the air... Cause a lot of problems for the Dutch.. Inteligent in the box too..
Sergio Ramos..? Isn't he a fullback..? If he is a natural right back... then that would be a good addition to replace Neville.
Robinho... No need laa.. too many short, pacey strikers d..
You know what... even Ronaldinho wouldn't be a too bad replacement.. an interesting point to ponder.. Messi is TOO injury prone..

I have NO DOUBT what so ever that Messi is a TREMENDOUS player in his own right.. But to play 1 game and get injured for 5, thats not a good ROI... We already have that in a certain Louis Saha..
Arshavin is set on going to Barca. Barca have made an official bid to Zenit St. Petersburg... Considered case closed.
But to go Latin would also be a problem now that Carlos Quieroz is seriously considering the Portugal manager job... We all know Teves, Nani and Anderson cant really understand English that well.
Dont worry... Have faith... Im sure Fergie can dig up some more gems this season... He did it with Anderson and the poor man's Michael Jackson...oops.. i mean Nani :)

Ronaldo is playing games. He wanted to know how valuable he is in the football world. He is trying to become Beckham... maybe.
anyhow, Man Utd can live without him, only the pride is broken as Man Utd is still being perceived as ordinary compared to Real, Barcelona, Milan, Inter, etc... that's probably why SAF insist not to sell him, plus he is the one who groomed CR into what he is now...
We will see what's coming during ths month, perhaps Berbatov will be allowed to join Man Utd - such a talent will over shadow CR.

Huntelaar: I love United
Klass-Jan Huntelaar has put Manchester United on red alert after sensationally revealing his desire to play at Old Trafford.
The Ajax Amsterdam front man is currently one of the hottest properties on the market with Spanish champions Real Madrid also waiting in the wings to snap him up.
The huge furore over Holland international Huntelaar, with scouts eyeing his every move, stems from his magnificent goal scoring record for both club and country. “The Hunter” has poached 70 goals in just over 80 league appearances coupled with his eight strikes in 13 international outings.
Now it looks as if his departure from the capital club is inevitable following Ajax’s record breaking signing of Hereeveen prodigy Miralem Sulejmani.
And the Dutchman has wasted no time in expressing his wishes and has let the cat out of the bag by disclosing his wish to follow Oranje team-mate Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s footsteps and ply his trade with the Red Devils.
He told the Dutch media: "I love clubs with great history like Ajax. I also love United. It`s a club that makes me dream, especially as Ruud van Nistelrooy played there and did great things with them."

Ramon to meet United's Gill
Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is to meet Manchester United officials to thrash out a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to AS, Monday is D-day for both parties as the clubs will apparently sit down for talks regarding the sale of the Portuguese dazzler.
Los Merengues’s wish to bring Ronaldo to the Bernabeu is probably the worst kept secret in football, but United have steadfastly refused to even consider a move for their number seven.
AS claims that the Real supermo is prepared to offer between US$160 and 180 million for the winger, in the hope that a world record fee would be enough for the Red Devils to give the green light to the sale of Ronaldo.
Despite United’s insistence that Ronaldo is not for sale on a public front, it is believed that director David Gill is now ready to do the contrary after being told by the Glazer family that a mind-boggling offer would not be turned down
Should Real and United shake hands on an agreement, AS understands that Ronaldo finally meet face-to-face with boss Sir Alex Ferguson and state his intentions to leave.
Whilst United have stressed that they would not part with Ronaldo despite the offer on the table, in hindsight, his transfer would represent a significant coup for the Old Trafford outfit, who only shelled out US$36 million to snag the then 18-year-old Ronaldo from Sorting Lisbon in 2003.

Calderon cautious on Ronaldo stance
Ramon Calderon refused to be drawn on Cristiano Ronaldo's latest admission he wants to join the Spanish champions.
Real have often expressed their desire to lure the Manchester United winger to the Bernabeu and despite United insisting he is not for sale, Ronaldo's declarations could mean a move is on the cards, but - while admitting it would be a great coup - Calderon insisted the transfer is far from a done deal.
"As we have already said many times, it is a problem between Manchester United and the player," Calderon told Spanish sports daily AS. "If the two resolve this situation and Manchester United want to call us then we will be happy and delighted with them because Cristiano is a great player."
He added: "We can't say anything more, we only talk about our own footballers and Cristiano is Manchester United's."
However, Calderon did admit Ronaldo's comments, in which he signalled his intention to "take advantage of a great opportunity", may have swung the pendulum in Real's favour.
"If the kid keeps himself in that strong position, the step he has taken could be key," added the Real chief.
Real are reportedly set to offer United a world record 100million euros (£79million) for the player or 80million (63.2million) plus Holland midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

ZZ: Ronaldo worthy, Asharvin great
Zinedine Zidane wants Cristiano Ronaldo to take his tag as the world's most expensive player and backs him to join Real.
France's best player of the past decade, Zinedane Zidane sees Cristiano Ronaldo as worthy of a bigger transfer fee than that of his own record breaking fee set when he moved from Juventus to Real Madrid.
Ronaldo, who's European quest ended this week with a 3-2 loss to the mighty Germans, seems intent on leaving Old Trafford to make his dream move to the Bernabau.
Zidane who still holds the record for the biggest transfer fee ever paid for one single player at US$72m is a great admirer of the Portuguese winger and feels that the boy deserves the hype he is getting.
"He has had a great season, a league and Champions League winner, and I think the fact that he and Portugal got knocked out at the quarter-finals doesn't mean anything because they were up against a great Germany team.
"It doesn't say anything about the merits during the year. He is not scared of his new Real Madrid engagement and every time they wanted good players they got them.
"Now it depends on his personal plans, if he wants to play there he will play there."
Zizou is also relieved that Ronaldo's potential move to his former hunting ground will mean he can breathe easier as the transfer record hanging over his head will finally be removed.
"If he will come to Madrid it will be quite an amount, they are ready to pay more than for me and this will lift the weight from my shoulders," stated the former France international, in an interview with the Daily Mail.
But the French legend reserved his biggest praise for someone else other than Ronaldo as he has been watching and observing the games at Euro 2008.
The retired playmaker has been keeping a close watch on the spectacular displays of Russia and their star player, Andrei Arshavin.
"When you see their [Russia's] number 10 it is great," Zidane exclaimed.
'What he does at this stage is more difficult than at a World Cup because it's the first big tournament he has played in. I was very happy to see that type of football played. He has great feet."
Real Madrid's directors might heed their former superstar's advice and take the Russian midfielder to the Bernabau instead of breaking the bank for Ronaldo.

Yes. Man Utd are in a bidding war with Arse-anal over Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The price: 18 million pounds !!
Question 3
Ronaldo is purposely playing with United on agreeing on staying of joining Real Madrid. The timing of this op comes after the Euro which Ronaldo wanted to proof hes not a CHOCKER... Alas, the last time I checked, Spain were the Euro champs.. I guess the chocker tag still there.

Ronaldo claim him self as a slaves at Man United
In an utterance as remarkable as any he has issued this summer, Cristiano Ronaldo declared last night that he agreed with the Fifa president Sepp Blatter's assertion that Manchester United should stop treating him like a "modern-day slave" and release him to Real Madrid.
"I agree with the statements of the president, he is right," Ronaldo said and, pressed on where he would spend next season, he reiterated the point. "You know what I said, what I want and what I would like. Let's see. I agree completely with the president of Fifa. Now I have to wait and see, but I do not know where I will begin the season."

Ferdinand - Captaincy isn't exclusive
Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has insisted that being England captain is definitely not "the be all and end all."
The 29-year-old captained Manchester United in the Champions League final against Chelsea and also led the national team in Fabio Capello's second game in charge when they faced France in March. But the defender is adamant he is not motivated by the possibility of being captain and that his main concern is winning trophies for both club and country.
Ferdinand told Sky Sports News: "I don't really think about it. I think other people think about it and talk about it more than myself, it's not the be all and end all for me."
He added: "I've said from the beginning I go out to play football for my team and to try and win trophies.
"It's not all about being captain - I've said many times the more captains there are on the pitch the better for the team.
"At United last season we had a lot of captains on the pitch no matter who wore the armband so if that happens with the England team then great."
The former West Ham player admitted he would be interested in a career in management, saying: "A coaching role be it with a youth team or a first team, management maybe.
"But who knows? I've got a long way to go yet with my career. I've just signed a new deal with United and long may that continue.
"I think everyone sees a little bit of manager in themselves but whether you can do it or whether you get the opportunity is a different thing so I am concentrating on playing for now and if it does come around in the future then great."

New deal for Rio
Rio Ferdinand has signed a new contract at Manchester United which will keep him at Old Trafford until 2013.
The new deal effectively keeps Ferdinand with United for the remainder of his career.
"Rio's contribution this season has been a major factor in our outstanding defensive performance and I am delighted he has signed a new contract," said manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
After originally joining the Red Devils in 2002 the former West Ham player has gone on to fulfil his promise of becoming one of the most accomplished defenders in the game.

Evra extends United deal
Patrice Evra is set to stay at Old Trafford after signing a four-year contract extension with Manchester United.
The France defender has proved to be an astute signing by Sir Alex Ferguson since joining the club from Monaco and is now looking forward to more glory after securing the double.
"The last two-and-a-half seasons have been the start of a dream for me," he said. "It is a pleasure and an honour to be part of this fantastic side and to be coached by Sir Alex Ferguson and his staff."
He added: "Manchester United is more than a club, it is a family I am proud to be a part of and that is why it has always been a first choice for me," he continued.
"I declared when arrived that I was coming here not just to play but to win and United is the ideal place to realise such a dream.
"It is a privilege to play in front of our fantastic fans and I am sure that the success we have earned in the last two seasons confirms the history of this club and will be the start of something even more special."
Evra, who celebrated his 27th birthday last month, overcame a difficult first six months at United to become one of the best left-backs in Europe.
A member of back-to-back Premier League title squads, the Senegal-born star was part of the Red Devils side which defeated Chelsea in the Champions League final and Ferguson is delighted to have secured his services until 2012.
"Patrice has been a key part of the club's success in the last two seasons," he said.
"He has developed into one of the best full-backs in world football and his infectious personality has helped to build the incredible team spirit that exists at Old Trafford."

Berbatov agent speaks out
Dimitar Berbatov's agent has told the Bulgarian media that he is convinced United are interested in signing the Tottenham striker.
Reports in the British tabloids on Saturday suggested that United had made an official bid for the 27-year-old forward, after months of stories linking the Bulgarian with a move to Old Trafford.
When asked about the speculation in an interview with Bulgarian radio station Darik, agent Emil Danchev did little to dampen the speculation.
"I know for certain Manchester United have shown interest in signing Dimitar Berbatov," said Danchev. "But I'm not entitled to make any more comments."
Sir Alex Ferguson revealed earlier in July that he is aiming to delve into the transfer market for at least new one face this summer, and is 'looking at one or two things.'

Ole makes a winning start
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a winning start to life as a manager as the Reds' Reserves posted a 3-1 victory at Burscough on Saturday.
Goals from Tom Cleverley, Febian Brandy and Rodrigo Possebon gave United victory despite some good pressure from the hosts, who pulled a late goal back through David Brookes.
It took just seven minutes for Cleverley to notch the first goal of the Solskjaer regime, turning smartly and firing home from 15 yards.
Although the hosts rallied well, Brandy doubled the Reds' advantage just before the interval when he fired past Burscough keeper Ian Lowe.
Fifteen minutes after the interval, Possebon put the game to bed with a stunning goal. Picking the ball up 25 yards from goal, the Brazilian midfielder smashed a superb dipping effort into the corner of the goal.
Although the Reds dominated the remainder of the game, Brookes had the final say when he slipped the ball under Ron-Robert Zieler to salvage some rewards for the hosts' spirited performance.
The Reserves' next outing is on Saturday, 19 July, when the Reds travel to near-neighbours Altrincham.

No rush for new assistant
Sir Alex Ferguson will take his time before deciding who to appoint as his new assistant manager.
Carlos Queiroz's departure to take over the Portuguese national team has left a hole in the Reds' backroom staff ahead of the new season, but the United manager will not panic in his hunt for a new assistant.
When asked if the search for a replacement had already begun, Sir Alex told MUTV: "Not really, we’ll just take our time as we normally do. We’ll wait and see how things unfold."
Queiroz admitted he left Old Trafford 'with heavy heart' after a trophy-laden spell at Old Trafford, and Sir Alex was quick to pay tribute to the tactician's impact behind the scenes.
"It’s disappointing but nationalities come into it in terms of him being an emotionally fervent Portuguese man, and the attraction being too big," said Sir Alex.
"It’s disappointing but he did a great job for us and that’s why he’ll be remembered. He’s gone with our best wishes. He did a terrific job for us and a lot of the innovations we’ve had over the last few years are down to Carlos."

Report: Aberdeen 0 United 2
United made a winning start to the new pre-season campaign, as goals from Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney sealed a hard-fought victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
The hosts, celebrating the 25th anniversary of winning the European Cup Winners' Cup under Sir Alex Ferguson, piled plenty of pressure on the Champions League holders, and were unfortunate to see a first-half goal from Darren Mackie ruled out for offside.
United's class told in the latter stages of the first half and much of the first, however, and Carrick moved the visitors ahead by converting a penalty before Rooney powerfully headed home after the interval.
Rooney could have buried the hosts single-handedly inside 10 minutes, as he twice shot straight at goalkeeper Jamie Langfield and also had a powerful far-post volley blocked by a defender.
Although Aberdeen struggled to contain Rooney and the vibrant Ryan Giggs, they still probed menacingly during the opening exchanges, and Jeffrey De Visscher came close to opening the scoring before Mackie slid a finish past Ben Amos, only to see his effort chalked off by a linesman's flag.
The sell-out crowd had to wait until just before half-time to see the first goal, when Rooney was brought down inside the area by Langfield after a superb through-ball from Carrick. Rooney opted to let his England cohort take the spot-kick and, just as he did in Moscow, Carrick sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to put United ahead.
Immediately after the interval United's lead could have been doubled, but substitute Chris Eagles sidefooted Darren Fletcher's teasing cross over the bar from close range. The hosts, for their part, could have drawn level shortly afterwards, but Amos made a superb fingertip save from Jamie Smith's inswinging effort.
Rooney and Giggs continued to terrorise the Dons' defence, however, and the latter almost headed home the former's cross, only for substitute stopper Bertrand Bossu to brilliantly tip the ball onto the crossbar.
Twenty minutes from time, Rooney went one better by powerfully heading United's second goal. Darren Fletcher took Carrick's pass in his stride and curled in a teasing right-wing cross, which Rooney glanced emphatically into the far corner.
Danny Simpson had a long-range shot well held by Bossu and Eagles saw his chip deflected just past the post as United finished in the ascendancy, and held firm to post an impressive start to the new season preparations.
United: Amos (Woods, 73); Neville (Simpson, 46), Brown (J Evans, 61), Vidic (O'Shea, 46), Silvestre; Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes (Gibson, 61), Martin (Eagles, 46); Rooney (Hewson, 73), Giggs (Campbell, 61).

ronaldo is playing tug of war with MU... he's proclaiming that he's the best, well maybe in england but in euro or world... YET!!! Look at his performance during the recent EURO, lazy and full of act!! I personally hate and disgusting those actor!!!
Anyway, look at the bright side, should or should not he go, its all a BIG question mark!!! For most player, they would look at the payment of course. Dont talk about big opportunity, talent or anything, its all bullshit talk Blatter. If any club can offer higher salary, of course they willing to go. Only time would tell... From my personal point of view, he would go, TRUST MY INSTINCT!!!! dont worry, MU would survive with or without him.

Arini nye news dgr kate ferguson still nk ronaldo stay.. ishh.. for me.. jual aje ronaldo tu ngn harge tinggi.. 100 million pound ka.. ala kalu disimpan player yg xmo stay wat pe.. nnt die main cam siot lak.. lgpn die ni bukan team player.. so last season maybe die bagus.. manetau next season die teruk ka.. so it wut be better ferguson sell him.. leh beli player lain.. probably bentley ka.. or bastian schwentegier.. ntah camne ntah nk eje.. hehe..
abe9 sebenarnya avid fan of Man Utd.. nak cite pasal ronaldo actually dah menyampah,, no one doubt bahawa ronaldo is one of the best player around, tapi dia lebih terserlah bila SAF bawa dia dari Portugal ke England, , sekarang ni abe9 pun rasa macam kebanyakkan pendapatlah, jual je ronaldo tu,, tak tentu lagi dia boleh memberi yg terbaik kat real madrid, mcm beckham, robinho byk lagi pemain yg joint real madrid tapi akhirnya tak menyerlah.
its firm that berbatov is going to MU ..got this info from a vivid fan in manchester right now..takmo balik mesia pasal gila kat MU...and berbatov will be a backup for ronaldo yg tak kenang budi...baik berambus... SAF tu dari dulu dah tunjuk kredibiliti nak naikkan nobody to be somebody....

EXCLUSIVE: Tevez becomes £32m man as Fergie agrees record deal to keep Argentina star at Old Trafford
By IAN LADYMAN Last updated at 11:25 PM on 25th July 2008
Manchester United have defied the credit crunch crippling the nation by agreeing a British record £32million fee for striker Carlos Tevez.
Sportsmail can reveal that the Barclays Premier League champions have reached a deal with Tevez's owners MSI that will turn his current Old Trafford loan deal into a permanent move within the next couple of months.
The incredible valuation shows that, even in the current harsh economic climate, English football continues to thrive at the very top level and it will eclipse the £30m paid by Chelsea to AC Milan for striker Andriy Shevchenko two summers ago.
Tevez has been on loan at Old Trafford for 12 months and has been solely owned by Iranian businessman Kia Joorabchian's MSI company since they paid £2m to buy him out of a similar - and complicated - deal with West Ham last summer.
United always knew that they would have to dig deep if they wanted to make Tevez's switch permanent but manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been so impressed with the 24-year-old's contribution during the club's double-winning season that he has implored chief executive David Gill to move swiftly.
The club will now have to sort out a permanent contract with Tevez himself - in all likelihood for five years - before the transfer can be completed.
Just this week in South Africa, Gill said: 'We have spoken to Carlos and see him as part of our long-term squad. We have been pleased with his first season. He is a good age, a great player and well liked within the team.
'We know what we have to do and what we have to pay. The only issue is that we would have to sort out a longterm contract for him. But it's not a problem. We can do it in September, October, November or December.
'Sir Alex has explained it to him and he is very comfortable with it.' Tevez scored 14 goals for United last season and has quickly become a favourite with United fans who are impressed not only with his abilities but also his work-rate.
The Argentina international will be offered an £80,000-a-week deal by United and has already indicated that he wants to stay.
Tevez has been owned by MSI since Joorabchian bought him from Boca Juniors for £12m in 2004 and took him to Corinthians in Brazil. From there, he went on loan to West Ham in 2006.
The £32m fee will not be paid up front by United. In reality, a sum of about £15m will be paid, with the rest following on in relation to Tevez's appearances and achievements. United's current record fee is the £29m paid to Leeds for defender Rio Ferdinand in 2002.

Paul Scholes...the Man, the Player, the United Legend...we are all blessed to actually see him in action..it will be a sad sad day when he retires..
Quotes for our Ginger Prince...
Micah Richards : "He's always in the right position, always seems to be at the end of the box when the ball drops in. The complete midfielder - when he's fit, he's the best. Some go missing but he's in the right place at the right time. He's my favourite player of all-time, unbelievable. If you give him a chance it's a goal, isn't it?"
Eidur Gudjohnsen : "I'm more an admirer of Paul Scholes than I am of Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a fantastic player, but he has 10 other great players around him every week...Scholes is one of the most complete footballers I've ever seen. His one-touch play is phenomenal. Whenever I have played against him, I never felt I could get close to him."
Edgar Davids : ""Every one of us (midfielders) is just trying to become as good as him. Everyone can learn from Paul Scholes."
Edgar Davids : "I'm not the best, Paul Scholes is."
Tony Adams : "I really rate Paul Scholes, because he hasn't got the high profile of many of the Manchester United players, he doesn't get too much attention, but he is one very good player. He is an intelligent player, he works hard and he scores some great goals. He is not flamboyant and is a quiet lad off the pitch but he is a tremendous asset to Manchester United and to England. He has already got my vote as player of the year."
Cesc Fabregas : "He is the one whose level I aspire to. He is the best player in the Premier League."
Patrick Vieira : "The player in the Premiership I admire most? Easy - Scholes."
Thierry Henry : "I can't understand why Scholes has never won the player of the year award. He should have won it long ago. Maybe it's because he doesn't seek the limelight like some of the other 'stars'."
Zinedine Zidane : "My toughest opponent? Scholes of Manchester. He is the complete midfielder."
Zinedine Zidane : "Scholes is undoubtedly the best midfielder of his generation."
Sam Allardyce : "There is not a better midfield player in the world."
Kevin Keegan : "What United have got that Chelsea haven't is Paul Scholes. I think he is different to anything else in English football."
Marcello Lippi : "Paul Scholes would have been one of my first choices for putting together a great team - that goes to show how highly I have always rated him. Scholes is a player I have always liked, because he combines great talent and technical ability with mobility, determination and a superb shot. He is an all-round midfielder who possesses character and quality in abundance. In my opinion, he's been one of the most important players for United under Sir Alex."
Ray Wilkins : "I'm saddened because I think we as spectators, not only in this country but right through out Europe and the rest of the World, will be missing one hell of a footballer."
Gordon Strachan : "Paul Scholes has been the best England midfield player for 30-odd years. You'd probably have to go back to Bobby Charlton to find someone who could do as much as Scholes. When the ball arrives at his feet he could tell you where every player on that pitch is at that moment. His awareness is superb."
Peter Schmeichel : "He controls and distributes the play and the game better than anyone I have ever seen."
Peter Schmeichel : "Still the best player in that United midfield."
Laurent Blanc : "Scholes is the best English player. Intelligence, technique, strength... all the attributes are there. At Manchester United I saw what he could do on the training field. Phew!"
Michael Carrick : "He's a legend."
Park Ji Sung when asked by the club’s official home page which United player he would like to see in the red shirt of the Taeguk Warriors : “It has to be Paul Scholes.”
David Beckham said that, among his teammates at Real Madrid, which included Zinedine Zidane, Raúl, Ronaldo, Luís Figo and Roberto Carlos, Scholes was the most admired opponent : "He's always one of those people others talk about. Even playing at Real Madrid, the players always say to me 'what's he like'? They respect him as a footballer, and to have that respect from some of those players is great."
Brian Kidd : "Paul Scholes had the best football brain I'd ever seen in a kid. Let's face it. Paul Scholes is in a class of its own."
Rio Ferdinand : "I can honestly say Paul is the best player in the Englad squad. For me he is the complete player."
Rio Ferdinand : "For me, it's Paul Scholes. He'll do ridiculous things in training like say, "You see that tree over there?" - it'll be 40 yards away - "I'm going to hit it". And he'll do it. Everyone at the club considers him the best."
Phil Neville : "Paul, for me, is the best player in the England team. It worries teams. Speak to any other international team and they will single Paul out as England's key player. For me, he doesn't get the full credit that he deserves. He is a world-class player and deserves to be up there with the likes of Zidane and Figo."
Gary Neville : "I wouldn't swap Paul Scholes for anybody. He is quite simply the most complete footballer I have ever played with. He is the best."
Steve Bruce : "He's the best player in Britain in my opinion and he has to get himself fit just before we are due to play at Old Trafford. I cannot pay Paul a bigger compliment than to say that he's the most complete footballer in the country. The best bar none."
Roy Keane : "An amazingly gifted player who remained an unaffected human being."
George Best : "To be honest I think England have lost their best player. Certainly he's the most consistent and naturally gifted player we've had for a long, long time."
Sir Bobby Charlton : "I am sorry for England because they don't have any player like him. You can talk about others but there is no one else like him. He is the best technical player England has without any question."
Sir Bobby Charlton : "He’s always so in control and pinpoint accurate with his passing – a beautiful player to watch."
Sir Bobby Charlton : "Paul Scholes is my favourite player. He epitomises the spirit of Manchester United and everything that is good about football."
Sir Alex Ferguson : "Very few players can do that, but Scholes is one of them - and I knew he was one of them. That's why, without question, I think Paul Scholes is the best player in England. He's got the best skills, the best brain. No one can match him."
Sir Alex Ferguson : Sir Alex Ferguson gave evidence in court on behalf of one of his former trainees and listened to the prosecution barrister's list of United's top players.
"You've missed Paul Scholes - and he's my best player," Ferguson chided her.

tak ehh...tak marah..wat per nak marah....
dari awal dah tau...Manchester United is not a 1 man team...losing good player(s) is(are) always a set back but we wil rebuild, we will regroup and we will come back, even stronger and better...
Hallo pren !! . . .ARSENAL ??? . . pada pendapat aku arsene is a good manager, perbelanjaan secara berhemat . . .tak la macam hampa . . .duit banyak ,berkenan saja beli.
Main bola memang la main secara pasukan bukan setakat pemain tapi seluruh warga team memainkan peranan termasuklah penyokong club tu sendiri.
p/s: Bro 29hb nanti tak pi layan chelsea ka ?? . .Rugi la kalau tak pi.

Saha heading for PSG
United are ready to sell Louis Saha to big-spending Paris St Germain to raise money for new arrivals. The injury-jinxed French striker, 29, is wanted by PSG who have signed Chelsea veteran Claude Makelele and is interested in going home if a fee and personal terms can be agreed. United have rejected several bids from clubs who want Saha on loan and PSG would have to buy the hitman and then be able to take on his stunning £4million-ayear salary. Sir Alex Ferguson has grown fed up with Saha's inability to be a significant part of his squad and the money from shifting him could help in his bid for a fit goalscorer. Saha should know his PSG fate shortly.

In other news, Owen Hargreaves has handed United and England a major boost by claiming he is finally over his knee problem. Hargreaves was restricted to just 23 starts last season following his £17million move from Bayern Munich. But he believes a course of injections has rid him of the debilitating tendon problem.
